30 and 31 May each year marked as public holiday for Sabah. During these two days, we, the Kadazan Dusun together with our fellow relatives ethnics of Murut, Lundayeh and Rungus celebrate the harvest festivals or Kaamatan. And so, those who working far from home return to their kampung to celebrate with their families. So sad, I am not home now.
This year is the first time I celebrate Kaamatan outside Sabah. Of course, the situation is very much different here. There is no celebration here. No Aramai Tii.. Hahah.. No Unduk Ngadau.. No family reunion.. huhu.. It's okay I guess as I already had a chance to spent plenty of time together during our vacation to Bandung earlier this week. But, for sure, I never get enough time with them. I wish I was home.
Anyhow, celebration is a celebration. No need to shed a tears while others are having good time, right. So, to friends, families and fellow Sabahan who celebrate Kaamatan, I wish you had a wonderful time. Please do mind your safety, especially on the road. With that, I wish you all Kotobian Tadau Tagayo do Kaamatan! Cheers! ^__^
